Frequently Asked Questions

Looking to restore optimal hormone function but not sure where to start? Browse these common questions to see if our services are right for you.

How safe is testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

TRT has been a common practice in the healthcare community for many years. The risks are very low. Even though there is little risk to using T, we will monitor your levels and provide the medical oversight to ensure this is a safe and effective treatment. Replacing your deficient testosterone levels with bio-identical hormones, which is not a foreign substance, is no different than taking thyroid hormone on insulin. Your body needs it to function properly.

What is the process you use?

Our process is pretty simple and straightforward. We start with your labs to see if you can benefit from HRT and create a customized plan for you with options to consider based on your unique goals or needs. You will sign up for monthly treatments protocols and we will check your hormone levels periodically until you are optimized, and then six months thereafter, we will adjust as necessary.

What info do I need to provide you to have treatment?

We ask you to fill out a health questionnaire. We will also need your contact information and payment method to contact you to schedule ongoing checkups.

Where are you located and can we do this via telemedicine?

We are currently in the Kansas City area with plans to expand. We are licensed to practice in several states. If you want to know if we can serve you, contact us and we will give you details on how that works. Your initial consultation will be in-person with Dr. Steve. After that, much of your communication can be by phone, text, or email. An annual in-person visit is required.

This will depend on your insurance policies. We advise you to check with your plan Admin. You can pay your periodic lab fees with your HSA or FSA.

Do you take Medicare?

We do not currently take Medicare and, by law, we never will. In the future, we may be able to take Medicare, but we currently cannot receive payment through Medicare.

Is testosterone replacement therapy legal?

Yes. When prescribed by a licensed physician with DEA certification, testosterone replacement therapy is legal.

What are the typical benefits I will see?

Men who use T cite many benefits, such as:

  • Increased muscle strength of lean body mass

  • Improved sexual function and desire

  • Improved mood and improved mental focus and memory

  • Increased energy and stamina

  • Stronger bones and decreased joint pain

How long does it typically take before I would feel the benefits?

Most men report feeling a noticeable shift in mental clarity within four to five days. Physically noticeable benefits take four to six months to notice an increase in muscle mass and changes in body composition. TRT is not a substitute for healthy eating and exercise. Without simple discipline, your body will not change from fat to muscle without effort on your part. TRT gives an edge that will help you succeed.

Can women benefit from the therapy?

Woman can benefit from T therapy and we have plans to expand to meet women's health needs. Check back with us in a few months for anticipated changes to our plans.

Can you help me with other medications or issues my normal doctor would typically prescribe?

We are your health partner in treating and optimizing your hormones. If you are having other concerns, we will encourage you to see your PCP. We are focused on men's health and do not treat acute illness like the flu, or other chronic health issues that your PCP is best suited for. Think of us as your health advisor and partner in helping you achieve your personal and best optimized health.

Once I start using T, do I have to stay on it for life?

Once you start therapy, you do not have to stay on for life. You can stop at any time and your body will return to your previous (low) levels of hormones.

What negative side-effects are there to consider?

Men whose levels are too high can experience acne or some hair loss. But, overall, this is a bio-identical hormone, which means you are just replenishing your body's testosterone levels to a much more youthful balance.

Can I stop at any time or is there a contract?

There is no long-term contract. You can stop testosterone at any time and your billing will be stopped for the next billing cycle.
